Hands-on Course in Tablet Technology

Objectives

The Hands-on Course in Tablet Technology mission is to foster and promote post-graduate foundational training in conventional and advanced oral solid dosage form processing and manufacturing for pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, food, cosmetic and animal health industries.

Lectures include topics in preformulation, formulation, excipient selection, granulation, mixing, blending, tablet compressing, melt extrusion, continuous manufacturing, extrusion-spheronization, particulate and tablet coating, scale-up, stability, Critical Quality Attributes, QbD, product evaluation, FDA requirements (SUPAC guidelines), BA/BE and establishing an IVIVC.

Laboratory consists of 20 hours of hands-on training in which participants work in teams to conduct selected tablet/melt extrusion/extrusion-spheronization laboratory scale unit operations in addition to relevant testing for evaluation and quality control of materials and dosage forms prepared.

Upcoming Courses

Due to the ongoing public health concerns surrounding the impact of COVID-19, we regret to announce that the course scheduled for September 13 – 18, 2020 will be postponed until the Spring of 2021.  We are sincerely grateful for the time and dedication of our speakers, organizers and lab instructors who make this course successful and look forward to gathering together again for the course offerings in 2021.
